Fundraising & Sponsorship
Our volunteers run a wide range of activities and personal development opportunities on weekday evenings and during weekend camps for boys and girls of local families from the age of 6, up to 14.
As a charity, we rely on the support of the community and local businesses. Running a building and providing equipment is all but impossible based on subscriptions paid by those attending the sections.
We do all we can to raise money ourselves through the hard work of the young people, including bag packing at supermarkets and sponsored events. We’d like to run more activities for young people at a price that is affordable to all, but we are limited in what we can fund ourselves.
We currently welcome help in the following areas:
- Gifts in kind/surplus stock/tombola goods
- Funding for specific major camping items (list available)
- Match-funding money raised by us
- Sponsoring events or activities
- Supporting a Sheerwater community event together
We are indebted to Exxon Mobil for new patrol tents in 2016-17 replacing ones in use from the early 1970s and ASDA, especially the shoppers and staff of the Sheerwater store, for their donations and support.
